the weekend recap! weekend of: 6/7/25 - 6/10/25
with the salt of the sweat on my brow. Elohim, God on high! can you hear your people cry? help us now - this dark hour. deliver us! hear our call, deliver us! Lord of all, remember us!
“Deliver Us” by the Prince of Egypt musical
imagine this: you’re sitting, wrapped in a quilt with a mug in hand, at your southern grandparent’s house on the lake, surrounded by great company & the soothing smell of baked goods, marveling at the childlike joy that has suddenly filled your heart. well, that is exactly what it felt like during my time at the first Zion Rising prayer conference in Madison, Alabama hosted by Asbury Church. oh how I wish I could go back already! letting go & letting the Lord work in my heart in the most mundane of moments seemed to be a common theme in my spiritual walk this past weekend. He brought me comfort, creativity, & connections!
when Luke asked me to join him a handful of weeks ago, I immediately felt a call to obedience & decided to say yes without holding expectations for my experience. & oh boy, did the Lord reward my obedience with fruitfulness? abundantly fruitful indeed! sweet friend, the Lord proves Himself faithful time & time again. open your heart to obedience & gleaning all you can from the tables He has meticulously placed you at.
⛅️ a house of zion!
“the Lord looks at the heart.” - 1st Samuel 16:7
to complete your calling, you have to see the world as God does; one of my friends calls this worldview our “Godggles!” in this story, the story of David’s call to the throne, David was not impressive, but He was still seen by God. stop trying to be impressive to be seen! yield, wait on God for your time! we need the older generation (Samuel) to rise up for the younger (David).
what is your generational identity in the body?
“you yourself like living stones are being brought up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood…” - 1st Peter 2:5
the royal priesthood comes down to sacrificial obedience. you are an image-bearer of the King! be mindful of how you represent Jesus to others - be clothed in humility & purpose. consecrate yourself in preparation of the coming wonders of God! clean hands & pure hearts!
He loves it when we ask for His help concerning our callings - our doubts don’t scare Him! just be consistent with God.
⛅️ a table with a place set just for you!
one of the most important things that the Lord revealed to me was that surrendering the noise in my heart to the foot of His cross was absolutely crucial for growth in the areas concerning my Kingdom calling. He is not threatened by distractions - He wants to have them all. I had to be completely ready to be changed by godly zeal! this was just my step one to being open for Him to move & draw me further in His arms.
as I was sitting on the porch of my host home, sipping on a mug of hot cinnamon coffee in the sweet sunshine, the Holy Spirit prompted me to meditate on Psalm 91 (as I mentioned on last week’s post a bit). I had been thinking too much on what I could do for myself/control, & not enough about what the Lord was already doing for me! verse 9 of chapter 91 reads, “because you have made the Lord your dwelling place - the Most High who is my refuge.” after reading this, my heart was set at a posture of ease. I just needed a reminder to draw near.
worshipping in a room full of mixed generations often filled my eyes with tears the beauty of wisdom & breakthroughs - no matter the age. I also learned a lot through the art of seeing & watching others around me worship. in my prayer journal, the first night, I observed “a baby cries out for his mother, a grandmother is praying protection over her family, a father steps out in boldness, & a college girl sees it all in this moment.”
one time my friend was praying over me & she said “God just give her some old people!” & being in this intergenerational community reminded me that He hears & answers the “silly” prayers too!
all in all, the Lord whispered constant reminders in my ear that the most important thing about me is my relationship with Him & that He has significant ministry He wants me to do. He will continue to prepare my place at tables He wants me at - I just have to sit down, bring my own dish, & eat what others have brought too. I’m resting in His presence, a presence that feels like home, as He prepares me a place!
“ who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?” - Esther 4:14
btw: i also had the best ice cream of my life on this trip!!!!!!
dear sweet friend + avid reader, my prayer for you is that you remember your identity as a co-heir to the Kingdom beside Jesus Christ & that you would rise up! He is El Roi - He sees you & He has already made a place for you in this big world to accomplish Kingdom work. He has gone before you & is already right beside you. pray big prayers, confide in your community, be obedient, & always be kinder than you were yesterday! the Lord can do a lot with an open & ready vessel.
I hope each of you has a very happy rest of the week! love you! Jesus loves you! praying for you! peace! thank you for being here & I hope to see you again soon! 🕊️

“therefore, encourage one another & build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.” - 1 Thessalonians 5:11
I’m so glad you had a great time! The Lord truly had prepared a place and path for each of us, we just have to be obedient to His call. Such good words bff! 😚
