the night recap! night of: 10/9/24
a sweet digital diary about my experience at the Unite Night event held on my college campus! all about the speakers, the worship, what I took away from it, & how the Holy Spirit changed lives. this will not be my usual weekly edit format, but I hope you will enjoy it nonetheless!
⛅️ what is Unite Night: first of all, let me explain what Unite Night actually is! it is a Christian organization founded by Tonya Prewett that certainly has a heart for college students! this group hosts one-night only events on college campuses around the country. this nearly four hour event consists of Jennie Allen & Jonathan Pokluda as the speakers & Passion City Music as the worship band (always a joy to see them live). they also host live baptisms at the end!
their motto is literally: “college students lifting the name of Jesus.”
they came to my public “party” college campus to minister to nearly 6,500 students. almost 1,000+ students gave their life to Christ during this event, & so many of them also got baptized at the end. generation z for Jesus! revival among college students!

⛅️ the messages:
from Jennie Allen: Romans 8:1 says, “there is, therefore, now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” she started out with a bang! every person in that room that night turned to their neighbor & confessed all of their heavy sins on the spot. the listener responded with this one verse & this one verse only. how powerful! teaching college students the power of repentance. three pivotal points from her sermon -
cease striving! this life is way too short to be bound by sin when there is a way out.
“cease striving & know that I am your God.” - Psalm 46:10
the devil makes you feel very comfortable in your sin & targets you because he knows you. you deserve more, so start fighting back. shame is just a tactic of the enemy.
if it’s not pretend & Jesus really rose from the dead, let’s risk it all for Him! the best news is that He is coming back just for you, the way you are!
He also loves to talk to you! loves you in general! & also generally likes & adores who you are! (when she said this, it warmed my heart).

from JP: oh I just love listening to this man speak! teared up at multiple points. he focused his message on the rich, young ruler from Luke 18. he told us that Jesus is the true rich, young ruler! may the Spirit show you your idol & kill it! three pivotal points from his sermon -
Jesus is calling you 100% all in with Him. God is not about the halfway.
JP asked everyone in the room, “on a scale of 1-10, how confident are you that you are going to Heaven?” he then revealed than any number under 10 is the same because you believe that you’re going to hell (for example - 90% sure you’re going to Heaven is still a 10% belief that you’re not). be a 10 for Jesus!
if you don’t have Jesus, this is as good as it gets. if you do have Jesus, this is your hell & it only goes up from here.
he told us this story of a man’s last words to his two sons (did cry here). the sons told JP that their father looked at them & yelled, “don’t wait! don’t wait like I did!” meaning go all in for Jesus before you don’t have the ability to anymore. we are not promised the next day! don’t wait!
faithfulness is just relying on what He has already done for you, laying down your idols, & knowing that the benefits outweigh the cost.
there are 3 things that keep you from going all in with Jesus: thinking too much of yourself, thinking too much of the world, & not thinking enough of the Kingdom.

⛅️ my experience: I have three words to sum of this amazing experience - God is moving. oh it was a true glimpse of Heaven! we were standing on holy ground. may I never become desensitized to the life-changing power of the Holy Spirit. He changed my life & with that same power, He changes the lives of my peers. in His eyes we are all saved, forgiven, redeemed, free, loved. thousands upon thousands of college students heard the raw good news!
Jennie Allen & JP were given the gift of ministering so well to my generation, & I pray that every seed they planted on my campus will grow to be a mighty tree for God.
Passion City Music gives me chills every single time I hear them live, & no one can tell me that Christian music isn’t cool - because it is! & it changes hearts!
the live baptisms after the event was so moving because Jesus moved - people were getting dunked in holy water in the back of a pickup truck. celebrating that hell lost another one with people I had never even met before was an experience in itself. I cannot wait for Heaven! these are my brothers & sisters in Christ!
my prayer is that the Spirit will continually fill up my campus! may our college’s label switch from “party town” to “revival town.” blessed to have been a part of this night!

honestly, almost a week has gone by & I am still in awe of the character of the Lord & how beautifully it was shining during this night. I long to know more about His character & be a witness to others!
I just ask that you would be praying over my college campus & that more would come to know the Lord here. also, that the seeds that were planted this night would grow strong. revival - hearts turning to Him!
a little glimpse into some of the worship - all of us praising one name:
that concludes the little window into my reflections from Unite Night! I am so grateful for every single one of you who read my blog & support me in real life. the Lord’s hand is truly over everything. next week, the regular format will be back - I promise! the breakdown of this week & next week will be featured in next week’s post as well. love you all! prayers! peace!
thank you for being here & I hope to see you again soon! 🕊️
“therefore, encourage one another & build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.” - 1 Thessalonians 5:11
Ansley, thank you for explaining exactly what Unite Night is for me. I had heard about this at Ole Miss and State but didn’t know much about how it. It sounds amazing…..much like Campus Crusade for Christ when I was in college. ( which was a few years ago). You are an inspiration to many. Love your writing. Keep it up. BTW…your mom and my daughter have been friends since high school…. So I consider your mom one of my girls! Keep sharing Gods love.
It was such an amazing night! So incredibly thankful for that experience, and getting to see the Lord move! 😆
