the week(end) recap! weekend of: 9/6/24 - 9/8/24
a sweet digital diary about my experience at the Live Original Sister 2024 Conference - with my mom! all about the speakers, the worship, meeting new friends, holy ground, how Jesus changed hearts, being a mirror of Him, worshipping with my mom, & what I took away from it. this will not be my usual weekly edit format, but I hope you will enjoy it nonetheless!
since I was a little girl, my dad has enjoyed watching the good ole southern show Duck Dynasty starring the Robertson family; it became something that we watched together! overtime, as I started to grow in my faith, I started to look up to Sadie Robertson Huff (+ the Robertson family as a whole) & enjoy her faith-based content on social media. I just loved her sweet light & her ability to radiate Jesus from the start. I own a lot of her devotional books, listen to her podcast, & love hearing her speak in person/watch her sermons on the internet. I really admire everything her ministry, Live Original, stands for & aspire to be a part of this ministry (or my own ministry of this degree) someday - something I’m trusting in God for. the Live Original team advocates for being a Christ-like sister & friend to others.

in the past few years, Sadie has started hosting a conference for ladies who love Jesus or want to experience more of Him as a part of her ministry. my parents surprised me with vip tickets to the this year’s conference held in West Monroe, Louisiana. it was one of the items on my “the art of being a God made girl” bucket list. before this, I had only seen Sadie speak live one time: at Passion in January of 2024. this made me extra excited to attend a conference that she hosts because of the amazing job she did at Passion - she really does have a passion for Jesus - but, this conference exceeded all of my expectations! I also got to meet her! let me just tell you all about it - so grateful to have gotten this opportunity to attend this amazing event alongside my mom.
the theme for this conference: reality redefined
your reality check is here: you are loved & you are original!
⛅️ meeting Sadie Rob: first of all, let me just shout out to my parents who not only gifted me these tickets, but gifted me vip tickets - so grateful! second of all, I want to say that I am so lucky to be able to check something like this off of my special Christian girl bucket list! although I had a long drive to West Monroe that Friday, it was so, so worth it because we got into the venue early & got the awesome opportunity to meet Sadie Robertson Huff (+ got some really cute photos & free stuff)! she is so kind & so genuine. plus she has an amazing Jesus-loving & uplifting presence. I also ran into so many different Christian “influencers” that I admire. we got nice, cushioned floor seats for each session, & we were able to sit in on an extra session: Sadie & her husband, Christian Huff, did a follower qna! it was the sweetest time. such a good way to start off the conference!
a fun fact: Sadie actually liked a story that I posted of her singing on the blog’s Instagram! that was pretty cool - I felt cool.
a sweet moment on making a new friend: at the conference I wore one of my favorite sweatshirts, a green crewneck that says “instead I call you friend” on it with some cutie designs, from Feel The Smile. friends, God connects all of the little dots because I ran into Scarlet Sterns, the creator of Feel The Smile & designer of the same sweatshirt that I was wearing while standing in line to meet Sadie! Scarlet was the sweetest ever & was so grateful to have seen me (as I was so grateful to have seen her) - a God touch!
another sweet moment on making a new friend: at the conference, there was a session where we all broke out into different themed talks - my mom & I attended one called “faith & fitness!” the speaker, Nicoletta Bradley, shared that two years ago she was attending the conference, & because of God, she was now getting the opportunity to speak at it! that certainly gave me some needed encouragement! she shared so much truth about how a woman should Biblically see herself & her body. my mom & I actually met her at her pop-up shop booth that afternoon - for her ministry called Nobel Fitness. I got a really cute grey sweater to support her! she was so kind & so uplifting - a positive voice!

⛅️ the venue: do y’all remember last summer when everything was covered in Barbie pink & girl-power to promote the new Barbie movie? well, this was just like that, but faith-filled & so much cuter! you could tell that the ministry’s team + Sadie really cared about making girls feel like Barbie themselves & making the venue look just like Barbie-land. there were so many cute pop-up shops & pink was everywhere (even the soap in the bathroom was pink)! there were food trucks, a merch section of the building, & lots of local shop pop-ups in the courtyard - definitely bought a few new things. every little detail made me feel special & like I was meant to be there.

⛅️ the worship & speakers: this is where it gets extra good! I was so blessed to be able to experience these talented individuals sing or preach in the name of Jesus. telling thousands more about His name. I get chills just thinking about it!
worship leaders: LO Worship, the ladies from Passion City Music, Taya, Sadie Robertson herself (still crying from her performance), & more!
speakers: Lisa Harper (still laughing from her jokes), Alex Seeley, Katherine, Wolf, & Sadie Robertson! more content from these sermons in later blog posts.
favorite songs: Mirror (Sadie & LO Worship), Beautiful Jesus (Passion & Chidima), Made for More (sung by LO Worship), Speak Jesus (sung by Taya), a song from LO Worship that is currently unreleased, & a song from Taya that is currently unreleased! listen to these right. now.
all of it made you just want to throw your hands up in worship to reach the Lord! it was certainly a glimpse of Heaven that I will be forever thankful to be able to hear & witness. at some points, there was no dry eye in the entire room.

⛅️ being a mirror of Him: as mentioned above, Sadie just came out with a new worship song along with her worship team called “Mirror,” & as she was singing it live onstage, a live painting of Jesus’ face on a large mirror was being done. it was such a beautiful moment - a moment I come back to to help me realize my worth. this conference’s theme, reality redefined, was so impactful because it helped me remember who I really am through the eyes of Jesus, to see Him in the mirror & not all of my imperfections. there was even a section where we wrote truth-filled letters to our future selves - that will eventually get sent back out to us.
you are a dearly loved child of the one true King - a princess! be fully aware of your identity in Christ, ground yourself in what He says about you in the Word. you are unconditionally loved & known by Jesus. you are set free - so live that out! God can only create original things; little you would think you’re pretty!
“for now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known.” - 1 Corinthians 13:12
a special note on worshipping with my mom: 100/10 recommend worshipping with your mom at the lo sister conference! I will seriously cherish this memory forever. my mother is such an inspiration to me, & I will always appreciate her willingness to live out the Word - my example. such a great way to experience the conference, with her by my side. I love you, mom!

⛅️ holy ground & how Jesus changed hearts: all I can say to describe this experience is holy. we were standing on holy ground! the Spirit was moving in that room & rested on us the entire time. each heart was touched by the King. many were called home. in drawing nearer to God, everything changes. & when you are so in love with Jesus, nothing else matters. be someone after God’s own heart!
Sadie even requested, after Lisa Harper spoke, that we all take our shoes off & stand barefoot out of respect for the holy ground & our holy God. how powerful it was!
“then he said, ‘do not come near; take your sandals off your feet, for the place on which you are standing is holy ground.’" - Exodus 3:5
at the end of the conference, they hosted live baptisms. with worship in the background, people were getting dunked in holy water. hundreds of girls giving their lives to Jesus. man, this was when I let it all out! tears all over my face! I never want to become so desensitized to the life-changing power of the Holy Spirit - because I too was once lost. celebrating that hell lost another one with other believers is so powerful. that entire night, I was just imagining what Heaven will be like. the worship! the glory to the Father! only He can change lives like this.
“I will give you a new heart, & a new spirit I will put within you.” - Ezekiel 36:26(a)

to my mom: can we go back next year?!
honestly, almost two weeks have past & I am still in awe of how beautifully the Lord moved throughout this conference. He is still changing hearts right now, to the same degree - you & I can still be a part of it if we just obey. Alex Seeley mentioned in her sermon that the Lord’s love language is obedience - say yes to Him & He will use you!
going to that conference helped me understand two main things: (1) the Lord is holy & He is powerful, (2) I am a child of God & when I look in the mirror, I should see what God sees when He looks at me.
I pray that this has helped at least one person reading this in some way, whether to attend this conference, to see the Lord in who He created you to be, or to remember how the Lord saved you from the shadow of the valley of death.
here’s a little video from the blog’s Instagram I made to capture the experience:
that concludes the little window into my reflections from conference! I am so grateful for every single one of you who read my blog & support me in real life. the Lord’s hand is truly over everything. next week, the regular format will be back - I promise! the breakdown of this week & next week will be featured in next week’s post as well. love you all! prayers! peace!
thank you for being here & I hope to see you again soon! 🕊️
“therefore, encourage one another & build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.” - 1 Thessalonians 5:11
You are my example, sweet girl! So proud of you!!! 💕. Let’s go back next year!
This sounds like the best experience, and I’m so glad you got to go with mama steph!! I’ll have to check it out next year for sure! 😆😆
